Application is OPEN for the Upcoming Outdoor Winter Market Events

The staff of the Tofino Market along with the District of Tofino event team are working on putting together two outdoor markets this Winter. Both of the events will be held in the RV parking lot located beside the Council Chambers and Clayoquot Community Theatre. We hope this location will be more accessible and less muddy than the Village Green. There will not be a Tofino Winter Market held in the Community Hall this year.

The Events

Pop-Up Winter Market
Saturday, November 27th, 10am-3pm

This event will be weather dependent. It is a “pop-market” and will only happen if the weather cooperates for one of our scheduled days. We will first try Saturday, November 27th and we have three back-up dates approved. If it’s a beautiful winter day we will happily gather together and get the community out for this much-beloved annual tradition. We will plan to make the call 24-48 hours prior to the event on if it will run or not.

Jingle Night Market
Friday, December 3rd, 4-9pm

This event we will try to host even in slightly inclement weather as it is the last night of Jingle into Christmas and all the shops will be open late as part of the annual event. This is such a fun night in Tofino with community members out to shop local and score great deals from local businesses. We feel the addition of the Jingle Night Market will further attract people to town that night as well as increase traffic flow between the different shopping areas in the downtown core, with the Night Market right in the middle of the action. We plan to light up the parking lot with a few spotlights and Christmas lights on the surrounding trees, but vendors will also need to bring battery-powered lamps or Christmas lights to light up their own tents. We are searching for some food vendors to further add to the atmosphere of the night!


Vendors will be required to have their own tent, table, chair and display materials. Sandbags or weights will also be required (even milk jugs filled with water or bags filled with sand work well to weigh tents down). For the Jingle Night Market Vendors will also be required to light up their own tents with battery powered lamps and/or LED Christmas lights. As always, all products sold must be handmade, hand foraged or hand altered by the artist onsite.

The fee is $25/per event and there are limited sites available. We are opening application to local residents of the Pacific Rim first and if sites remain we will extend the invitation to vendors on the rest of Vancouver Island.
