Artist Janessa Dornstauder makes pyrography art - wood burning! She burns illustrations onto everything from driftwood to charcuterie boards, and wall hangings to wooden spoons.
Wood is sourced locally, from Vancouver Island and most is salvaged from burn piles and mill scraps. Driftwood is collected from Tofino, Ucluelet, and the surrounding islands. Janessa draws pieces that are inspired by her time living, working and playing on the west coast.
